Taking the confusion out of the planning process is a challenge for hospital administrators who, in the 1990s, will be called on to reevaluate strategies for both the institution and individual clinical areas. Identifying a planning process that fits the hospital and its management style is as important as producing the plan itself. In the following article, the author discusses the factors and players that must be considered in the planning process.
