The jejunum from each of 2 adults within 4 h of the time of death was homogenized, fractionated and finally purified by preparative polyacrylamide electrophoresis to produce maltase, sucrase and lactase, the last being incompletely purified, and activities of the enzymes were estimated electrophoretically with isotopic substrates.
