A painless swelling in the upper inner side of the left thigh of a 40-year-old man in India, which had been slowly increasing over 2 years, was found on surgical removal to be a hydatid primary cyst that on rupture released a number of typical grape-like daughter cysts. Muscular localization of hydatid cysts is relatively rare in India.
