The data collected in the experiment, relating to the various disorders diagnosed and treatments required by cattle and swine are analyzed and tabulated for the years 1971, 1972 and 1973. Changes in the pattern of diseases in the County over the three years are discussed. Advantages claimed for the system include easy identification of herds with a high incidence of milk fever, on which research could usefully be carried out; and of herds in which research into the relationship of environment to animal health and productivity would be profitable. This data-processing experiment has proved so useful that its extension to cover the whole of Sweden is under consideration.
