Complications induced by cytostatic therapy of glomerulonephritis

The frequency and course of various complications of cytostatic therapy were studied in 2 groups of patients given oral and i.v. doses of cytostatics. Complications produced by antimetabolites and alkylating agents were compared. It was shown that the cytostatic therapy of chronic glomerulonephritis is characterized by high frequency and a broad spectrum of side effects. Recommendations were made for carrying out the selection of a preparation, methods for its administration, and adequate doses, as well as the assessment of susceptibility in an inpatient hospital. The dynamic observation of the patients should be conducted during the entire course of treatment.
