China's Family Planning Association demonstrates vigorous vitality

China's Family Planning Association, since its establishment in 1980, has organizations in 27 provinces, autonomous regions, cities, towns, and villages and serves as a link between the State's guidance and the people's wishes. Members set good examples in many ways, such as applying for single-child certificates. Respected village elders serve as arbiters in the settlement of problems. The associations use various kinds of mass media to popularize knowledge about contraception, birth control and child health; and they provide consultation and services for couples. China's Family Planning Association has received 28 study groups from abroad and has sent 31 study groups to foreign countries. It has also participated in international conferences.
