This volume is a comparative report which refers back to country studies produced by 1975 for the Southeast Asia Low-Cost Housing Study which began in 1972. It comprises ten articles which cover major policy concerns in housing, including rural housing, land policies and practices, housing conditions and housing needs. An appendix gives numerous designs for low-cost housing. The chapter on rural housing gives an overview, discusses government policies, financing for rural housing and housing in relation to integrated rural development.
