Determination of the frequency of detection and an assessment of the degree of manifestation of mitral and tricuspid valve failure were performed in 36 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy using two-dimensional Doppler echocardiography. An assessment of the effect of mitral regurgitation on the main echocardiographic parameters of intracardiac hemodynamics and the clinical course of the disease was also performed. In the majority of cases, the two-dimensional Doppler echocardiographic method made it possible to identify and semiquantitatively assess mitral and tricuspid valve failure.
