A direct relationship between the disease course and the total activity of creatine kinase in the blood serum was established in patients with nonspecific ulcerous colitis. A colorimetric method of measuring creatine kinase activity was employed. The creatine kinase test can be used as an additional diagnostic and prognostic indicator of the course of nonspecific ulcerous colitis.
