The 1.0 mg twice daily oral regimen of oral granisetron is an effective and well-tolerated treatment for the prevention of acute nausea and vomiting associated with moderately emetogenic chemotherapy. At this dosage, total control of acute nausea and vomiting is seen in 50% to 60% of patients. This is comparable to the control rates noted in other studies with intravenously administered granisetron in patients who received moderately to highly emetogenic chemotherapy.
