Pseudocryptogonimus pakistanensis gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from one specimen found in the intestine of 1 of 124 Labeo rohita from Lake Kalri, Sind, Pakistan. The new genus is placed in Neochasminae (Cryptogonimidae) and the diagnosis of the subfamily is emended. A key to the genera of the subfamily is provided. Pseudocryptogonimus is near to Paracryptogonimus and Parspina but is differentiated by the following characters: presence of spines at the basal margin of the oral sucker; a flattened, slightly transversely elongated ovary; vitellaria lateral to the ovary, confluent in the postovarian region and reaching posteriorly to the level of the testes.
