In 2 people with symptoms of diabetes glucose tolerance became normal on a hospital diet. When a history of alcohol consumption was disclosed, it was found that when 250 to 300 ml alcohol was taken during a day they developed glucose intolerance. Four healthy volunteers were tested in the same way; one showed glucose intolerance after alcohol.
