Authors estimated total adipose mass based on skinfold measurements in 205 males aged 40-59, residents of the housing estate "Czechów" in Lublin. They studied the correlations among calculated total adipose mass and arterial blood pressure as well as serum lipids levels. It was stated, that total adipose mass of the examined group was similar with those of other urban males populations. Total adipose mass well correlated with arterial blood pressure and serum triglycerides levels, but poorly with total serum cholesterol concentrations. Greatly significant inverse correlation between total body adipose mass and a concentration as well as a percentage of HDL-cholesterol was proved.
