The antigenic structure of C. albicans including dynamic variations in the organization of the cell wall, cell wall architecture of the blastospore, ultrastructural changes in the cell wall in association with budding or germination, presence of a cell wall coat, ultrastructural localization of cell wall components by histochemical and immunocytochemical methods, cell wall enzymes and disposition of wall components, is reviewed.
