Induced and voluntary migration in Malaysia: the Federal Land Development Authority role in migration since 1957

The Federal Land Development Authority (FLDA) in Malaysia has been responsible for between 6-8% of total migration in the 1957-1970 period. Selected settlement schemes are examined to ascertain what factors if any have led migrants to move. It was found that occupation and desire for employment were the most significant factors in migration.
