Caprine microsatellite dinucleotide repeat polymorphisms at the SR-CRSP-6, SR-CRSP-7, SR-CRSP-8, SR-CRSP-9 and SR-CRSP-10 loci

The microsatellites, detected using poly(dG-dT), were sequenced. Polymerase chain reaction showed the presence of 7, 5, 11, 12 and 4 alleles at the 5 loci respectively in goats in 15 sire families; the corresponding polymorphic information content was 0.941, 0.626, 0.914, 0.931 and 0.775. The segregation pattern of the alleles was consistent with Mendelian codominant inheritance. The sequence data of the microsatellites have been submitted to GenBank (accession numbers L22198, L222199, L22193, L22000 and L22201 respectively).
