Shamimana durdanae gen. et sp. nov. (Rictulariidae) is described and figured from specimens obtained from 1 of 4 Plotosus arab from Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The new genus is differentiated from its closely allied genera Rictularia and Pterygodermatites in having a well developed elongated vestibule and in the cuticular ornamentation of the body.
