A coprological study in 217 HIV adult patients in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, from March 1990 to March 1991 showed that 19 (8.7%) were infected with Cryptosporidium. 15 of these had chronic diarrhoea, 17 had abdominal pain and were dehydrated, 18 had lost weight and 4 had nausea or vomiting.
