Mean serum zinc concentrations in healthy subjects, subjects who had atempted suicide and subjects without or with dementia were 19.7, 17.3, 19.4 and 15.5 mu mol/litre, respectively. Proportion of subjects with serum Zn lower than 16 mu mol/litre was 8.3, 28.5, 16.6 and 60%.
