Incidence of cysts in pars distalis of mongrel dogs

Cysts lined by a single layer of cuboidal or pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium (resembling bronchiolar epithelium) and containing mucinous material were seen in the pituitary glands of 14 out of 200 mongrel dogs. The cysts did not seem to disturb the functional activity of the gland.
