A new C-nor-D-homosteroid alkaloid C27H45O6N, mp 242.5 .apprx. 244.degree. C, named pingpeimine B, was isolated from the bulb of Fritillaria ussuriensis Maxim by column chromatographic techniques. On the basis of the IR, MS, 1HNMR and 13CNMR spectra of pingpeimine B and its transformation products the structure and configuration of pingpeimine B have been established as 5.alpha.,17.beta.,22.alpha.-cevanine-3.BETA.,6.alpha.,14.alpha.,16.beta.,20.beta.-hexol.
