This paper focuses on the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in enhancing the competitive advantage of dairy cooperatives in India. A profile of the ICT project in a specific dairy cooperative society is presented. The impact of the project on poverty alleviation, people empowerment, and social capital formation are analysed, and some institutional and technical issues are examined.
