The first paper is an attempt to indicate for the nutritionist's benefit some of the terminology and modes of thinking which planners currently employ, and to suggest areas in which more effective inputs might help to sensitize the planners. The second paper discusses in very general terms how nutritionists should approach the problems of constructing social indicators, and the areas where research and development are required. The third paper deals with strategic aspects of planning and with the potential role and responsibilities of the nutritionist in helping to achieve this.
