Twenty two hyperprolactinemic and two normoprolactinemic women with oligo- or amenorrhea took part in a clinical study to investigate the efficacy of a new czechoslovac ergoline derivative terguride VUFB in restoring menstruation and ovulation. Increased prolactin levels were successfully normalized in fourteen treated patients. Ovulation was restored in 8 oligoor amenorrheic patients. Four conception occured during the study; one aborted on the 9th weeks of pregnancy. Side effects were not a major problem. Tumor reduction was noted in two patients taking Tergurid.
