Twenty-eight eases of malignant pleural tumours seen in the Wilhelmshaven area between 1963 and 1969 are reported. The majority had come in contact with asbestos during the course of their work in the old docke. A possible connection between exposure to asbestos and the subsequent development of pleural tumours is suggested and further investigations are indicated.
