A patient with multiple stenotic lesions of the coronary arteries showed the disappearance of the collateral vessels following the injection of nitroglycerin into the coronary arteries. This paradoxical effect of the drug, which has not previously been reported, may be a consequence of the pressure changes in the distal coronary circulation.
