Angiotensin is known to exert a wide range of regulatory effects on salt-water balance when cerebrally applied in both mammals and birds. An immunohistochemical study in the avian brain shows angiotensin-like reactive elements in the anterior periventricular hypothalamus. Fibers are detected in the median eminence. An overlapping distribution is seen with vasotocinergic perikarya and fibers.
