A study on application of ISO 2361 to Chinese workers was undertaken. 300 healthy male subjects were randomly divided into experimental groups and control groups, each group with 10 subjects was studied. According to ISO 2631, acceleration values of vertical whole body vibration with exposure time of 6-30 minutes of 15 fatigue-decreased proficiency limit values with frequencies of 13.5-33.5 Hz and 3 reduced comfort limit values with frequency of 8 Hz and 3 exposure limit values with frequency of 40 Hz were selected as three experimental factors and levels respectively. The results showed that fatigue-decreased proficiency limit values and reduced comfort limit values are generally applicable to Chinese workers. Before a satisfactory evaluation standard is formulate, ISO 2631 can be used for evaluation of exposure to whole body vibration on Chinese workers but the exposure limit must be carefuly adjusted.
