Is there a correlation between the cerebrospinal fluid changes and EEG findings in children with acute leukemia?

The authors tried to demonstrate possible correlations between cererbrospinal fluid changes and the pattern of bioelectric activity of the brain. One-hundred investigations of the cerebrospinal fluid including cytological examinations were carried out in patients with acute leukaemia in various stages of the disease. Parallelly EEG investigations were done. The results showed that in adults increased protein level in the cerebrospinal fluid coexisted with EEG changes, while this correlation was not found in children. No correlation was also found between increased cell count and EEG changes.
