A case is reported in a 52-yr-old immunosuppressed woman with rheumatoid arthritis, who initially presented with clear drainage from the incision, which had negative culture. Treatment consisting of debridement and intravenous amphotericin B, followed by staged arthrodesis with an intramedullary rod, was successful.
