Meningioma presenting as a neurologic emergency in late pregnancy

A case of a large meningioma presenting as an acute neurologic emergency in late pregnancy is described. The diagnosis was made by computed axial tomography of the head, and an immediate cesarean section was performed. It was followed by a craniotomy and dissection of the tumor. The outcome was excellent for both the 30-year-old mother and the infant.
