The activation energies for the conduction of sodum salts of cholic acid, deoxycholic acid and dehydrocholic acid are greater in the presence of polyoxyethyline sorbitan monolaurate (PSML) than in its absence. The thermodynamics of binding of the bile salts with PSML micelles has shown 1:1 stoichiometry, indicating that the process of binding is exothermic. The levels of calcium and barium ion tolerance of the bile salts in aqueous and aquo-PSML media have shown that cholate and deoxycholate exhibit much smaller tolerance to bivalent ions compared to that of dehydrocholate. The solubilities of copper and lead dehydrocholate salts are considerably low.
