Measurement of hertzian waves capture at body surface in hemiplegic patients with and without trophic disorders

An original method is described permitting the measurement of hertzian waves capture level in different parts of the human body. The study included 15 patients showing capsular vascular hemiplegia and 10 normal controls. In normal controls and in 10 hemiplegic patients without trophic disorders, no significant differences were observed in the hertzian waves capture level between the symmetrical points of the limbs. In 5 hemiplegic patients presenting severe trophic and vasomotor disturbances in the distal part of the paralyzed lower limb, a statistically significant decrease in hertzian waves capture level was noted in this area versus the symmetrical part of the healthy lower limb.
