The electrically induced ventricular fibrillation threshold (VFT) in rabbits increased in linear relationship with the dose of dauricine (iv 1.2-10 mg/kg). 4 kinds of anti-arrhythmia drugs, amiodarone (20 mg/kg), lidocaine (10 mg/kg), phenytonin sodium (25 mg/kg) and propranolol (1.5 mg/kg) increased VFT significantly but verapamil (0.5, 1 mg/kg) did not do so. The results of simultaneous administration of dauricine at high and low doses with other anti-arrhythmia drugs mentioned above separatedly showed that the effects of dauricine (5 mg/kg) with amiodarone (10 mg/kg), dauricine (2.7 mg/kg) with lidocaine (5 mg/kg), as well as dauricine (1.2, 5 mg/kg) with propranolol (0.8 mg/kg) were simply additive, while the effect of dauricine (5 mg/kg) with lidocaine (5 mg/kg) potentiated the simply additive.
