A simple and reliable system of needle-shaped electrodes is suggested for measuring the redox potential (Eh). The electrodes are introduced through the rubber cork directly into bottles for cultivating anaerobic microorganisms. With the needle-shaped electrodes the redox potential can be measured both in microquantities of liquid (0.1 ml) and in greater volumes (1.0, 1 and more). The needle-shaped electrodes may be used not only to measure Eh in bottles, but also to determine the Eh profile of the soil.
