Use of nitroglycerin in the complex treatment of cardiogenic shock in patients with myocardial infarction

Data were presented on the results of treatment of 25 patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock with dopamine and norepinephrine combined with nitroglycerin. Nitroglycerin included into the multimodality treatment of cardiogenic shock in myocardial infarction patients improved the outcome of shock and the prognosis of the disease at the hospital stage. When dopamine (or norepinephrine) is not effective in cardiogenic shock patients, it is recommended to use it in combination with nitroglycerin administered i.v., monitoring hemodynamic indices. Nitroglycerin used in combination with dopamine is also recommended in cardiogenic shock accompanied by pulmonary edema.
