A pronounced tendency towards versatility and left-right asymmetry were characteristic for the masseteric TVR in this study, performed in 16 normal volunteers. This in spite of careful standardization and normalization. A correlation with chewing preference during the first chewing cycle, or with phasic stretch reflexes, was non-existent.
