We studied on the laser-Raman spectra of cell walls, peptidoglycans, and teichuronic acids prepared from the three different kinds of cells. Micrococcus luteus (lysodeikticus) wild type IFO 3333 occurs singly, mutant MT in tetrads, and cell packets induced from the mutant MT in cubical packets. Remarkable differences were found in the spectra of peptidoglycans among the cell walls. These differencs may be due to conformational difference of the peptidoglycans between the septal wall and the peripheral wall, as the incidence of the septal wall increases in the mutatn MT.
