A female partridge found dying in June 1984 had several lead pellets in the gizzard. The liver contained 190 micro mol/kg lead and the kidney 480 micro mol/kg (wet tissue). The pectoral muscles were atrophied, and the proventriculus was partially impacted, indicating paralysis of the gizzard musculature.
