A dialysed, globulin fraction of an anti-Candida albicans serum was conjugated with fluorescein isothiocyanate and applied to soft drinks, sputum and vaginal discharges which had been inoculated with C. stellatoidea, C. reukauffii, C. tropicalis, C. pseudo-tropicalis and C. parapsilosis, Trichosporon cutaneum and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa. All C. spp. showed fluorescence. When the anti C. albicans serum was first absorbed with C. tropicalis a monospecific antiserum was obtained which allowed identification of C. albicans in 1 hr.
