Of 12 753 adults treated between 1979 and 1986 at the Biaystok Infections Clinic, Poland, 418 (3.1%) had protozoan or helminth infections. 11 of these had mixed infections of Giardia lamblia and Salmonella. The combination had no effect on the course of the disease. 6 patients also had enteritis and one also had Staphylococcus aureus. 32 (7.7%) of these patients had gastric or duodenal ulcers, 12 (2.9%) had gastritis and a small number had other conditions of the digestive/hepatic system.
