Leech infestation of man in Al-Taif, Saudi Arabia

Seven cases with nasal, nasopharyngeal and pharyngeal hirudiniasis (caused by Hirus spp.) are reported from Al-Taif, Saudi Arabia. The individuals presented with painless bleeding from the nose and/or mouth. All had a history of using contaminated water sources.
