Differential pulse polarographic determination of flavonoids in Pueraria lobata

A simple differential pulse polarographic method has been developed for the determination of flavonoid in pueraria. The extraction solvent was 95% ethanol and the supporting electrolyte was 1% ammonium sulfate solution Puerarin gives a well-definite peak at a potential of -1.60 V (vs Ag/AgCl). An excellent linear relationship was obtained between the concentration (4.6 .times. 10-6 .apprx. 1.4 .times. 10-5 mol/L) and peak current. This method is simple, accurate and rapid.
