This paper reports the laboratory study and clinical application of disinfectant solution. Bacteria of 2.times.108/ml were applied in the experiment. The solution was able to kill Streptomyces albus (8032 strain), Escherichia coli (8099 strain), spores of Bacillus cereus (8017 strain) and B. subtilis var. niger (4001 strain) after 5 minutes. Quantitative test showed that the bactericidal rates of the disinfectant solution were 99.94% and 99.98% for S. albus and E. coli (containing 1.times.106/ml bacteria) after 5 minutes, respectively; and the killing rates were both 99.99% after 30 minutes. Its bactericidal rates were 99.94% and 99.77% for spores of B. cereus and B. subtilis var. niger after 5 minutes, and 99.96% and 99.84% after 30 minutes, respectively. The test of artificial bacterium contamination showed that the bactericidal rates of the disinfectant solutoin were 99.772%-99.997% and 99.420%-100.000% for both S. albus and E. coli after 5 minutes, and 99.934%-100.000% and 99.920%-100.000% after 15 minutes, respectively. The results mentioned above have shown that this disinfectant solution has advantages of convenience, cheap and timesaving in the disinfection of the hands before operation. We propose that this disinfectant solution be applied to the disinfection of the hands before operation.
