Parasitology lost one of its great leaders when Theodor Curt von Brand died in Bethesda, Maryland on July 18, 1978. The following account makes no attempt to delineate the immense contributions that Dr. von Brand made to science through his research and scholarly writings. It is, rather, a personal tribute by two of his close friends and colleagues.
