An analysis of ocular trauma in Papua Ne Guinea seen over a 5-year period (January 1980 to December 1984) is presented. All cases were seen at an ophthalmologist's clinic in Madang and other coastal and highland centres. The types of trauma and their frequency are discussed, and a selected number of unusual cases are presented in more detail.
