Dental care of patients suffering from chronic renal insufficiency is an essential part of an interdisciplinary dispensary. It's necessary for stomatologists to know the alterations conditioned by disease or therapy. Disturbances of blood coagulation and of the healing of wounds, pathologic fractures, risk of hepatitis, altered pharmacokinetics but also psychic problems should be paid attention. Oral rehabilitation before dialysis as well as the preparation for kidney transplantation require an increased engagement.
