Complications of cerebral angiography in a teaching hospital

A retrospective survey of the complications arising in 314 patients who underwent cerebral angiography showed an incidence of 0.3% of permanent neurologic deficit for diagnostic studies. Patients at risk appear to be those with subarachnoid haemorrhage and arterial spasm and older patients with "crescendo" transient ischaemic attacks.
