Vascular architecture of the tectum mesencephali in dog

Main sources of the blood supply of the tectum mesencephali in dog are the collicular artery, superior cerebellar artery and its branches as well as the medial posterior choroid artery. Rami of the collicular artery form anastomoses with the rami of the superior cerebellar artery and with the rami of the posterior medial collicular artery. The inferior colliculus possesses rich vascularization as compared to that of the superior colliculus.
