World food supplies continue to lag behind population. The activities of the World Bank and the International Development Organization (IDA) are primarily directed to improving the very backward agriculture of developing countries. Credit alone is not sufficient and a great number of agricultural advisors are necessary to provide the essential know-how. In spite of progress up to date great efforts are still required from the international organizations and the industrialized countries.
